Terms of Use and Disclaimer

This page sets out the terms governing the MEY INVESTMENT website and the information, tools, and communication channels made available through it. It defines the nature of our service, its boundaries, and the scope of our liability. The content on this site is provided for information purposes only; it does not constitute a binding offer, a tax opinion, a legal opinion, or investment advice.

1. Scope and acceptance

These Terms of Use and Disclaimer govern the use of this website and of the information, tools, forms, and communication channels offered through it, operated by [To be completed before publication: the full legal name of MEY INVESTMENT, its commercial register or license number, and its registered address]. They apply to every visitor to the site. By continuing to browse, completing a form, or contacting us, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms.

This text does not replace a separate service agreement signed between the parties. Once a service relationship is established, the scope, fees, payment schedule, deliverables, and the obligations of each party are set out in a written agreement. In the event of any conflict between a signed agreement and this page, the agreement prevails. Under no circumstances does the content of this site by itself create a contractual commitment, or establish a client, agency, or representation relationship.

If you do not accept these terms, we ask that you refrain from using the site. The version in force is always published at this address. Changes take effect upon publication and do not apply retroactively. When we make a material change, we update the revision date and, where appropriate, add a short note at the top of the page. Keeping track of the version in force is the responsibility of the person using the site.

2. Nature of the service: process coordination and intermediation

MEY INVESTMENT's service consists of process coordination and intermediation. In practice this means file preparation, document collection and review, follow-up of official applications, correspondence with free zone authorities and service providers, appointment and calendar management, coordination with licensed professionals, and written reporting throughout the process. The decision is yours. We organize the process, track it, and alert you in advance to missing documents and to what the relevant authority will expect.

The service we provide is not tax advisory. Under Law No. 3568 on Certified Public Accountancy and Sworn-in Certified Public Accountancy (Serbest Muhasebeci Mali Müşavirlik ve Yeminli Mali Müşavirlik Kanunu), that authority rests with licensed members of the profession. Nor is our service legal advisory; under article 35 of Attorneyship Law No. 1136 (Avukatlık Kanunu), issuing legal opinions and handling legal matters is reserved to attorneys. Technical information published on this site or shared in meetings therefore does not take the place of an opinion or a formal legal assessment.

Our service likewise does not constitute investment advisory within the meaning of capital markets legislation. We do not offer personalized return expectations, recommend portfolios, or promote any particular financial instrument. What we do is explain corporate structuring options in technical terms, manage the process, and act as an intermediary. The final assessment of whether a company structure or a property is suitable for you rests with your own independent review and the opinion of your licensed advisors.

In the UAE, corporate service provision and real estate brokerage fall within the scope of designated non-financial businesses and professions (DNFBP). Accordingly, a goAML registration is maintained and an AML and KYC program is operated; identity verification, declaration of source of funds, and requests for supporting documents are a mandatory part of the process, and the service cannot be provided if they are refused. In Dubai, a RERA broker card and DLD registration are required for property brokerage. [To be completed before publication: MEY's license, RERA broker card, and goAML registration details; if these permissions are not held, the wording limited to matching with, and referral to, a licensed broker is to be retained.]

3. Content is for information only and is not a binding offer

The articles, guides, comparisons, and frequently asked questions on this site are prepared for general information purposes. None of them constitutes a personalized opinion, formal assessment, or recommendation. The content is based on official sources. However, every reader has a different residency position, ownership structure, income profile, business activity, and place of effective management. The same information can produce entirely different outcomes in two different files.

No statement on this site constitutes a binding offer. Published packages, scopes, service headings, and figures are an invitation to treat. A binding offer is issued in writing only after your file has been reviewed; the offer states the scope, out-of-scope items, third-party fees, validity period, and underlying assumptions. No figure or timeline communicated verbally is binding.

Before making decisions about your own situation, you must consult licensed professionals. For tax consequences on the Turkish side, you should work with a certified public accountant (SMMM) or sworn-in certified public accountant (YMM) authorized under Law No. 3568, and with an attorney for legal consequences. On the UAE side, it is appropriate to work with a tax agent registered with the Federal Tax Authority. MEY does not replace these opinions; we take on the file preparation and the coordination of the process.

4. Decisions of third-party authorities and institutions

The outcome of a company license, residence visa, Golden Visa, bank account, or title deed transaction is not within MEY's control. These decisions are made by the competent authorities and institutions. For visa applications, approval is at the discretion of the competent authority. For bank account opening, approval is at the discretion of the bank's compliance function. Preparing a complete and internally consistent application can speed up the process and eliminate avoidable grounds for rejection. At no stage, however, can an outcome be guaranteed.

Applications may be rejected, additional documents may be requested, a process may be suspended, or the relevant authority may change its practice without prior notice. In such cases, MEY revises the file and, where possible, evaluates an alternative route. Government fees, application charges, medical testing, translation, attestation, and third-party service costs are as a rule non-refundable. Refunds, re-application, and any additional fees are governed separately in the service agreement.

In Dubai, residence and Golden Visa procedures are handled through GDRFA Dubai; ICP covers the other emirates and federal procedures. The application channel, the required document set, and the review period are subject to the authority's own practice. Likewise, in the bank account process, the business model, source of funds, ownership structure, and country risk are assessed according to the bank's own internal policy. MEY cannot influence the substance or the outcome of these assessments.

5. Nature of the interactive tools

Any calculators, eligibility tests, day counters, and similar interactive tools that may appear on this site are designed to give a rough indication only. The results are estimates, they are not binding, and they do not replace an assessment of your individual circumstances. The tools rely on the data you enter and on simplified assumptions; they do not take into account exceptions, transitional provisions, or details specific to your file. Do not treat the output as an opinion.

The day counter is a simple aid for tracking the calendar. Tax residency is considerably more complex than that. On the UAE side, Cabinet Decision No. 85 of 2022 sets out three separate routes for individuals: being physically present in the UAE for 183 days or more within the relevant twelve-month period; being present for 90 days or more in the same period while also being a UAE national, a holder of a UAE residence permit, or a national of a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member state, and having a permanent place of residence or a job or business in the UAE; or having one's usual place of residence and center of personal and financial interests in the UAE. A residence visa alone does not establish tax residency.

Eligibility tests are likewise a pre-screening tool. In a Golden Visa assessment based on real estate, for example, the conditions apply cumulatively: the AED 2,000,000 threshold, the title deed and the DLD-approved valuation certificate being in the name of the individual, the property being located in a designated freehold area, and, in cases of joint ownership, each owner's own share independently meeting the threshold. A favorable result from a tool does not mean the application will be accepted; approval is at the discretion of the competent authority.

6. Price and timeline information is indicative

All prices shown on this site are indicative. Free zone license fees, visa quotas, office solutions, and attestation and translation costs may change during the year by decision of the relevant authority. A published figure is only meaningful when read together with what it includes and what it excludes. AED is the reference currency; US dollar equivalents are provided for information only and are subject to exchange rate movements. Current confirmation is always obtained for the final amount.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, indicative amounts do not cover translation and attestation costs beyond government fees, medical testing and Emirates ID charges, bank opening and minimum balance requirements, accounting and audit services, corporate tax and VAT registration and filing work, or, on the real estate side, the DLD transfer fee and annual service charges. The scope boundary is set out line by line in the written offer.

Timelines are likewise indicative and vary with the authority's workload, missing documents, the business activity concerned, and the depth of the compliance review. Some stages can run in parallel, while others must wait for the previous step to be completed. The ranges below are given for typical files and are not a commitment. [To be completed before publication: the date on which the price and timeline information on this page was last updated.]

7. Regulatory changes and currency of information

UAE and Turkish legislation change quickly. We review our content regularly; even so, we cannot guarantee that every page is current at every moment. UAE corporate tax, for example, applies to financial years beginning on or after June 1, 2023; the rate is 9 percent on taxable profit above AED 375,000 and 0 percent on the portion up to that amount. A company holding Qualifying Free Zone Person (QFZP) status, however, does not benefit from that 0 percent band and cannot claim Small Business Relief.

Similarly, the VAT rate is 5 percent; the mandatory registration threshold is AED 375,000 of taxable turnover over a twelve-month period, and the voluntary registration threshold is AED 187,500. Although the turnover threshold for VAT and the profit threshold for corporate tax happen to be the same figure, they are different things and should not be confused. The notification and reporting obligation under the Economic Substance Regulations (ESR) was removed by Cabinet Decision No. 98 of 2024 for financial years ending after December 31, 2022.

These examples are given to show that even a single rule has several layers. Where information on this site conflicts with an official source, the official source prevails. MEY cannot be held liable for consequences arising from content that has not been updated. On critical matters, ask us for the current position before deciding, or confirm it with your licensed professional. [To be completed before publication: the date on which the regulatory information in this section was last reviewed.]

9. External links

This site may link to official authorities, free zone authorities, banks, and third-party sources. These links are provided for the reader's convenience and to identify the source of the information. The content, currency, privacy practices, and security of linked sites are not within MEY's control. The presence of a link does not imply endorsement or recommendation of that institution or service.

Where information on an external source conflicts with information on this site, the relevant authority's own publication prevails. When you visit third-party sites, that site's own terms of use and privacy policy apply. Verify the address carefully, particularly on pages requesting identity, banking, or payment details. MEY never requests passwords or card details by email or message.

10. Limitation of liability

MEY INVESTMENT exercises reasonable care in preparing the information on this site. It gives no express or implied warranty, however, that the information is complete, free of error, or current at all times. MEY cannot be held liable for direct or indirect losses, including loss of profit and opportunity cost, arising from decisions taken or applications made in reliance on the content of this site, or from their outcomes.

Consequences arising from the acts of third parties fall outside the scope of our liability. This includes rejections or delays by authorities, banks' compliance assessments, changes to fees and procedures by free zone authorities, the work of translation and attestation providers, and the delivery performance of developers and property owners. These limitations do not apply in cases of MEY's willful misconduct or gross negligence; statutory rights in such cases are reserved.

Where a service agreement has been concluded, MEY's liability is limited to the service fee collected for the relevant engagement, unless the agreement expressly provides otherwise. Government fees, third-party charges, and official expenses fall outside that amount. In cases of force majeure, such as earthquake, epidemic, war, cyberattack, infrastructure outage, and regulatory change, performance of obligations is suspended until the impediment ceases.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

The interpretation and application of these Terms of Use and Disclaimer are governed by [To be completed before publication: the governing law, for example the law of the Republic of Türkiye or the law of the United Arab Emirates; to be determined according to the group structure and the contracting entity]. Where the service agreement between the parties contains a different choice of law, that choice applies to disputes falling within the scope of that agreement.

In matters submitted in the capacity of a consumer, the consumer's statutory rights to choose the competent forum are reserved. FREQUENTLY ASKED

The questions we hear most on this

The answers below are deliberately direct. A process that starts with the wrong expectations ends badly for both of us.

No. Our service consists of process coordination, file preparation, and intermediation. Tax advisory is reserved to certified public accountants (SMMM) and sworn-in certified public accountants (YMM) under Law No. 3568, while legal opinions and the handling of legal matters are reserved to attorneys under article 35 of Attorneyship Law No. 1136 (Avukatlık Kanunu). In these areas we work with licensed professionals and refer you to the right one.

No. All prices are indicative and constitute an invitation to treat. Free zone fees, government charges, and third-party costs may change during the year. A binding offer is issued in writing only after your file has been reviewed; the offer states the scope, out-of-scope items, and validity period. AED is the reference currency.

No. For visa applications, approval is at the discretion of the competent authority; for bank account opening, approval is at the discretion of the bank's compliance function. In Dubai, residence procedures are handled through GDRFA Dubai, while the other emirates and federal procedures go through ICP. A complete and consistent file makes the process easier but does not commit the outcome. In the event of rejection, government fees and third-party charges are as a rule non-refundable.

These tools are estimates and are not binding. They work on simplified assumptions and do not take into account exceptions or details specific to your file. Tax residency is assessed separately, under the three tests in Cabinet Decision No. 85 of 2022 on the UAE side and under the Income Tax Law (Gelir Vergisi Kanunu) art. 3-4 on the Turkish side. A residence visa alone does not establish tax residency.

The official source prevails in every case. Legislation changes quickly; although we review our content regularly, we cannot guarantee that every page is current at every moment. The rates, thresholds, and dates in the regulatory sections reflect the position as of the last review date. On critical matters, ask us for the current position before deciding, or confirm it with your licensed professional.
